Executive Director, Northern California Innocence Project, and Clinical Professor

Linda Starr is co-founder and Executive Director of the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP) at Santa Clara University School of Law. She has more than 25 years experience as an attorney both in California and New York. Through her work with the NCIP, and by using modern technology, the organization has exonerated dozens of wrongly convicted individuals. At PREX, Starr and Obie Anthony, an NCIP exoneree who lost 17 years to wrongful incarceration, will discuss the systemic flaws in our criminal justice system and explore ideas to bring about key reforms.

Obie Anthony III

Founder, Exonerated Nation Nonprofit Organization

After 17 years in prison for murder and attempted robbery he did not commit, Obie Anthony was exonerated of all charges on September 30, 2011. The Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP), working with the Federal Public Defender, helped to expose the lies and misconduct that led to his wrongful conviction. In a co-keynote with Linda Starr, Anthony will discuss his experience and ways to prevent future injustices.
